Hello! Here I review the IceRiver KS0 kaspa miner and see how it performs in terms of earnings, noise, electric cost. I will also go through what it costs and end of with my ending thoughts on this asic crypto miner!
How much does the IceRiver KS0 cost?
This miner can vary a bit in cost depending on where you are and where you buy it from. It weights 2.5 kilos so gotta take transportation into consideration. And I try to avoid buying expensive crypto hardware from second hand market as I want the hardware to be correct and safe when I get it. I ordered mine from
coinminingcentral and it took 2-4 weeks to get it. They have a discount where anyone can save $125 from any of their miners by using the code "nordic" when buying them.

What comes with the package?
In the box comes the miner and a power cable. The power cable is a type "G".

How is the setup? Is it difficult?
The setup includes plugging in the power cable and an ethernet cable in to the miner and you are done with the technical aspects. Then you need to connect your miner to a kaspa mining pool & get a kaspa wallet. In the video at the top of this blog post I show exactly how I do those things.
How much noisedoes the iceriver produce?
I would say this miner is quiet. And for being an asic miner it is VERY quiet. I found numbers online stating this device have the noise of 35 decibel. Which is measured 1 meter away from the device. 35 decibel equals the same sound level of a whisper.
I am able to have this miner in an apartment in the corner of the living room and I can’t hear it at all. So I’m extremely happy for it being silent since I would otherwise not be able to have it within my apartment.
How much heat does it generate?
My miner get between 47 to 52 degree Celsius. So, I currently do not need any additional fans or anything. But I would not want to place this miner in a wardrobe full of cloths and such. I would place it in an open space, preferably with stone or some metal that can lead the heat away.
What is the iceriver ks0 miners electric cost?
The miners power use is 65 watts which equals to a current 6.5 dollars in electric cost to run this per month 24/7. Which is really low for being an asic miner.

What does the IceRiver KS0 mine?
This ASIC miner mines the crypto token kaspa ($KAS).
My Iceriver ks0 earnings
My earnings started of at around 100 kaspa tokens per day that were in total valued at 3.22 dollars per day. And then the number of tokens i earned per day slowly decreases over time. And that is because more and more people are starting to mine kaspa, the total hashrate and mining difficulty goes up and we split the reward with more people. The dollar value is highly connected to the price of the kaspa token which currently sits at price around $0.045. But I like to think that if kaspa manages to hold on for another 8-9 months it might be able to simply continue it’s journey up in price during the upcoming bullrun. But, I have a sense that in that 8 month time the hashrate will have gone up a whole lot as well.

Ending thoughts on this silent asic miner
It's for sure awesome to be able to have an asic miner within an apartment. And I would say it is a low powered miner with it just consuming 65 watts (6.5 dollars per month in electric cost). Currently the profitability is high and would yield us a 300 day ROI.
As kaspa does not have that much in market cap, and kaspa could simply continue to skyrocket up in price, out phasing the increasing hashrate and so keeping this high profitability.
I guess we will just have to see. If you like me got a really low electric cost then I will happily continue to mine with the iceriver ks0.
Here is another video on the IceRiver KS0 where I try and calculate what my earnings will be if kaspa goes to a 10 billion dollar market cap
